Those found guilty of plagiarism are severely punished. Plagiarism is an issue of concern. It artificially inflates class averages and hurts honest students. Cheaters also hurt themselves because they do not master the knowledge and skills they came to university to gain. The concept of intellectual integrity is not confined to universities. It is also recognized and valued in the business world.
