Admission Requirements
Admission requirements – Laval University freshman year
Canadian high schools
- High school diploma (12 years) and
- Sufficient preparation in mathematics (differential calculus, integral calculus, linear algebra and vectors) and
- Academic grades (75% GPA and 75% in maths are considered a minimum)
Other systems
- High school diploma (12 years) and
- Sufficient preparation in mathematics (differential calculus, integral calculus, linear algebra and vectors) and
- Excellent academic grades
French education system

Admission requirements – Bachelor in business administration
Canadian high schools
- High school diploma (12 years) with good academic grades (75% GPA and 75% in maths are considered a minimum) and
- Sufficient preparation in mathematics (differential calculus, integral calculus, linear algebra and vectors) and
- Successful completion of a first year in a recognized university with good grades.
Other systems
- High school diploma (12 or 13 years) with good grades and
- Sufficient preparation in mathematics (differential calculus, integral calculus, linear algebra and vectors) and
- Successful completion of a first year in a recognized university with good grades.

Language requirements
Our freshman year and BBA offer a progressive approach towards the French language. A minimum level in French is still required to ensure a smooth integration and can be measured with the TFI (“Test de français international”).
- Freshman year requirement: 441 / 990
- Bachelor in business administration requirement: 591 / 990
Preparatory studies
Students who graduated with a 12 years high school diploma could be admitted in Université Laval’s preparatory year.
Here are some examples of candidates who would qualify for preparatory studies:
- Students from Canadian provinces other than Quebec.
- Students from one of the following countries: Algeria, Argentina, Belgium, Burundi, Chile, Croatia, Cuba, Djibouti, Egypt, El Salvador, Ecuador, United States, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Romania, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo (ex-Zaire).
When you receive your admission offer, you will also receive a list of preparatory study courses according to the program you are applying for.

Other school systems
- An undergraduate degree (North American BA or European license) or MA, with good grades (distinction/honours in UK, or cum laude in US) for each year of study including high school diploma, and
- Sufficient math preparation (differential and integral calculus, linear algebra and vectorial geometry.
- For some programs completion of the GMAT exam is mandatory.
Admission requirements for Doctoral studies
A graduate degree with focus on research and excellent grades is the minimum entrance requirement for all Doctoral programs.

- Up to date resume and two pages letter of intent.
For research programs
- Identify possible research supervisors
- Join to your application a research proposal summary (500 words);
- Complete the complementary survey
- Provide report on the candidates to be completed by persons able to evaluate your aptitude for research.
